Lorraine exits Idris Elba in tears after embarrassing comment
Lorraine Kelly walked off as Idris Elba joked a mortifying moment from their interview would become a meme as she was so embarrassed.
The 63-year-old broadcaster said told Idris, 50, he would be “an amazing baddie” in a future James Bond film before she admitted the interview “went off the rails”.
“I was going to say I could see you stroking a white pussy but I should not really say that as it is naughty and rude, and we’ll take that out thank you very much,” Lorraine told the actor.
Idris awkwardly laughed as Lorraine started sinking into her chair in embarrassment.
After a slight pause, a shocked Idris quipped: “Well it is out there now, I’ve got it in my head, the image!”
Lorraine started panicking, telling Idris she was “so sorry” about her wording as she tried to move forward with the interview.
Idris said: “The villains are the best James Bond characters, aren’t they? But now, I am just excited about being in a meme with you for the rest of our lives – high five.”
Lorraine blushed as she continued apologising to the iconic actor, adding: “I am so sorry, I am so bad. See I can’t help myself! It was in my head and then it came out.”
Idris told the veteran broadcaster not to worry as she carried on thinking about her poorly worded comment.

Idris explained: “I think everyone gets on a plane and subconsciously thinks, ‘What if?’
“It’s the type of environment you’re in as you’re in the hands of a pilot, a machine, and you are always wondering, ‘What if?'”
Later on, when the cameras panned back to Lorraine in the studio, she admitted to her co-star Tyler West how bad she felt about her James Bond blunder, adding: “I meant to say a cat.”
Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am and Hijack lands on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, June 28.
