Love Island contestant Ella Thomas has revealed that she was approached to star on the show five years ago, but chose to turn it down.
Award-winning model Ella, 23, is one of the singletons looking for love in the villa on the new series of the popular ITV2 reality dating show, which begins on Monday (June 5) at 9pm.
But speaking to Daily Star and other press, she confirmed that she was first approached to appear on Love Island five years ago, but declined it as she thought she was "too young" at the time.

The Glaswegian born beauty said: "My friends from school, they might not be surprised about me going on [Love Island]."
She then explained: "It's funny because when I was about 18 – I think I was in my last year of school – a manager, you know how you get management agencies? One approached me and asked if I wanted to go on Love Island and they'd support my application.
"I never did it because I felt I was too young at the time, but I remember I told all my friends in school and it was going around the school that I was going on Love Island!
"Now five or six years later they'll be like, yeah, makes sense."
Ella revealed that she grew up in Glasgow and moved to London, before returning to her hometown – and doesn't rule out a long-distance relationship if she meets that perfect someone in the villa.
"If we were living in the same city, it would be ideal, but I wouldn't say no to long distance.
"Wherever the love takes me – if it takes me somewhere and it means I have to do long distance, I'm willing to do it."
And when it comes to what she's looking for in a partner, Ella said: I'd say tall, nice teeth, good fashion sense.
"Michael B. Jordan is my celeb crush so him basically! Someone quite caring, funny, can have a laugh and also a gentleman."
