Love Island bombshell Adam Collard admits he returned to show for money

Adam Collard has revealed the real reason he decided to make his iconic return to ITV2's hit dating show Love Island.

Speaking on his podcast with pal Mickey Seers, Adam admitted he returned to the show purely for financial benefits, revealing he wanted to get a "little piece" of Molly-Mae Hague's million pound success.

Adam first appeared on the show in 2018 and bounced between islanders Rosie Williams and Zara McDermott.

His scenes were slammed by viewers and women's charities for "gaslighting and emotional abuse".

After his first stint on Love Island, Adam and Zara dated for eight months before parting ways.

In a shock twist in the 2022 series, Adam made a comeback, sparking both outrage and excitement amongst fans.

Adam claimed he had returned to look for someone to settle down with and eventually found love with Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne.

Adam and Paige finished in fifth place, and Adam confirmed the pair are still "flying", before revealing that returning to Love Island could set him up for life.

"Paige is amazing and we are flying right now but everyone who goes on Love Island – it's series eight now – people know what is coming off the back of it," he confirmed.

Referencing Molly-Mae's success, he continued: "'Everyone has seen Molly-Mae absolutely smash the hell out of life and to be fair she has smashed the hell out of her relationship as well, but even if you can get a little piece of that."

After coming second in 2019, influencer Molly-Mae went on to become creative director of fashion label PrettyLittleThing, boasting an estimated wealth of between £3-6million.

She recently moved into a £4m mansion with beau Tommy Fury and has reportedly signed a seven-figure deal with cosmetic brand Beauty Works.

Looking to Molly's success for inspiration, Adam admitted: "If you have been in the villa for long enough, you know you are going to be pretty set up for life."

Despite originally claiming he had entered the villa to find love, Adam revealed "nobody's daft" and that contestants know what can come out of their time on the show.

"Everyone comes on and says I am here to find love and that, yes you kind of are and obviously that is unreal but nobody is daft."
