Love Island Luca Bish ‘very much influenced by Harry Styles’, says tattoo artist

Love Island’s Luca Bish has caught the attention of fans who have noticed the islander’s extensive bunch of bizarre and trendy tats, unusual portraits and realistic inkings that have piqued the interest of eager viewers who have attempted to decipher their meanings.

Across his body, Luca has a wide array of styles and themes including traditional and realism, with many thinking that he has taken inspiration from one very famous pop star.

Tattoo artist Hermione Finch, from South West London, has shared her thoughts on Luca’s eye-catching ink.

She shared: “I think the torso tattoos are the perfect example of a recent industry trend in the past two years, very much Harry Styles’ influence!”

Viewers of the ITV2 show have compared him to the musician as they seem to share many similar tattoos, most notably the fern leaves.

Harry’s are situated on his hips but Hermione thinks that Luca’s could be a better fit, stating: “The placement on the torso has been well considered especially as the leaves frame the chest nicely.”

The style of many of Luca’s tattoos has seen a huge surge in popularity over recent years and has had huge influence from social media culture.

Giving her thoughts on his collection, Hermione shared: “His torso is very much a snapshot of this style of tattooing, with many of these being extremely popular and trendy on Instagram, specifically his stem rose, the old English writing and scorpion.”

However, the mismatched, sticker book style of placement is something she thinks will “age relatively well” as they are “well done tattoos”.

Luca’s body also features some rather unusual portraits.

Fans have spotted a realistic rendition of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, along with an eerily Luca-looking portrait of Rock ‘n’ Roll legend Elvis Presley.

Former Love Island winner Amber Gill has even taken to Twitter to call out the contestant on his controversial ink and wondered whether it had been photoshopped on.

However, Hermione thinks that the tattoo could give a hint towards Luca’s secret patriotic side, noting: “Iconic and well known people are a usual point of interest for portrait tattoos, so it could be down to a personal love of that particular era or a representation of his Britishness.”
