There's no doubt about it – Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu captured the nation's hearts when she and boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti blagged the Love Island trophy in 2022.
But the 27 year old has now exclusively revealed to OK! that she never could have imagined just how much her life would changed since that incredible moment.
“To this day, I still believe that I was going to get booted off on the second week. I can’t believe I made it all the way to the end," she said when she visited the BPerfect Cosmetics store in the Enoch Shopping Centre, Glasgow.
“It’s been a dream ever since. Overwhelming at times too, of course, but I’m very grateful for the platform I have now.”
The star, who appeared on Dancing on Ice earlier this year and competed alongside partner Brendyn Hatfield, also credits reality TV shows with helping to change her lifestyle too.
“Coming out of Love Island, my lifestyle has changed completely. My mindset and energy has changed," she revealed. "I love going to the gym now or even going for a walk or run.
"Keeping active is really good for my mental health, especially if I'm ever feeling down at any point."
Ekin-Su has passionately discussed her love for fitness in the past and often posts pictures of her workouts at the gym.
"Exercise also helps to give you even 20 minutes to yourself and away from any distractions," she explained to OK!. "It really clears your head and makes you focus on things.
"Plus, I'm nearly 30 now and I'm starting to feel changes and aches in my body," Ekin-Su laughed. "It's important I keep active."
For now, the TV personality is also fully embracing this exciting chapter in life and credits her success to one other thing – karma.
“I just feel like karma works,” she admitted. “If you’re a good person in life, good thing happen to you. And if you’re a bad person, nothing will go your way.
“If I've learned anything this past year it’s just to be myself and be authentic. Things don’t last forever, so I’m very grateful and I want to savour every moment.”
