LOVE Island star Jacques O’Neill has been left devastated by Paige Thorne recoupling with Adam Collard.
The rugby player, 23, made the shock decision to leave the villa earlier this week to focus on his mental wellbeing amid his romance with Paige.
In heart-breaking scenes he broke down in tears as he told her he would wait for her – but just a day later she moved on with Adam and was seen sharing an intimate moment with him in bed.
The news has hit Jacques hard, with an insider saying: “Jacques is completely devastated by Adam and Paige’s recoupling.
“He doesn’t think he can watch the rest of the show as doesn’t want to see them get together.
“He was secretly hoping she would be heartbroken, miss him and leave the villa to be with him.”
They continued: “He had vowed to stay away from girls and wait for her and had even told friends he’s total besotted with her and has never felt like this before.”
During last night’s episode personal trainer Adam, who previously appeared on the 2018 series, delivered a speech about Paige, describing her as "beautiful and funny".
He added that she "hadn't had exactly the most plain sailing time in here but I am hoping I can change that".

After being picked, Paige could be seen smiling – despite being in floods of tears over Jacques departure just days ago.
Jacques left the show after a tough few days as he struggling to placate Paige Thorne, 24, over his cheating with other girls during the show’s Casa Amor relationship test.
He wept as he told Paige: “You mean so much to me, you know that. I just wish I could finish my journey off with you in here.”
