Love Islands Will has been a Rampant Rabbit but Jessie will forgive, predicts Danica

Welcome to my latest column!

Watching Love Island this week has really brought back how much I miss the villa. Casa Amor was when I started to really have a good time on the show, before that I was just glad I hadn’t been dumped.

Making it to that point was a huge tick off my bucket list and Casa Amor was a chance to have a bit of a flirt, meet people who were interested in me and get to enjoy Love Island! I’m so jealous that this year’s Islanders are getting to do it – if I could go back, I would in a heartbeat.

The Casa boys in my series just made my whole experience, so I’ll always have a soft spot for them. But I do find it really hard watching the villa boys get to know new girls – it makes you think of all the times your man might have faced temptation!

Cynthia has the best energy, She seems like such a lovely girl and I’m hopeful for her connection with Casey. It’s the job of a Casa bombshell to lure the contestants but she’s gone about it respectfully.

I do feel bad for the Casa bombshells who don’t get any airtime – but that’s the way the cookie crumbles!

‘Ron has pleasantly surprised me’

A few things have taken me by surprise this week – some good, some bad!

Ron seems to have proven that he’s done being a boy and decided to be a man by sticking to what he said to Lana. He did his messing around and dabbling before Casa Amor, anyway! I respect the fact that he's actually stuck to his guns this time. It took him a while to realise, but I think he now knows Lana is the one for him.

Viewers haven’t always loved Ron, but this could be a huge tipping point for him too. Sticking by Lana is a straightforward way for him to be a fan favourite again and I have no doubt that we’ll see them in the final together – I’m calling it now.

‘Will lost his head!’

Jessie has really grown on me and there was a conversation this week that was really telling. Lana was saying she thinks Will is going to be faithful and quipped about him and Jessie both being very weird people – but that’s a side of Jessie we haven’t seen. I’d love to have seen her being quirky more often.

Will though… he really did lose his head as soon as the new girls came in. He was like a rampant rabbit – he just went a bit crazy! I do think he’s acted inappropriately, he didn’t need to be kissing other girls on the first night. I think he is happy with how things are going with Jessie but maybe felt conscious of how he hasn’t explored anything with anyone else.

The Casa girls are very good at being persistent, so hats off to them. Layla left Will totally windswept, she put the charm on and made him question himself. He took the ‘lads holiday’ mentality a little too far and then suddenly thought ‘oh no, what am I doing?’. I do think Jessie will forgive him but they’re set for a couple of really awkward conversations. It’s giving Paige and Jacques’ vibes!

‘I’m Team Tanya’

Until Casa Amor, Tanya had basically put all her eggs in one basket but being away from Shaq has perhaps made her realise that she hadn’t left any room to explore anything else.

I do back Tanya for getting to know Martin – he seems very calm and collected, and just what she’s looking for. But she and Shaq had said ‘I love you!’. We all had doubts at the time but now it’s been confirmed: Saying that was obviously a little premature. Getting intimate is her call and I don’t think that’s a big deal, but ‘I love you’ is a very big thing to say.

She’s going to be in a very sticky situation during the recoupling. Even though viewers have perhaps changed their opinions on Shaq following some of his actions, he’s still a human being and he’s given her his heart, essentially, and stayed loyal. I think Tanya will recouple and it’s going to be awful for him to see.

‘Casa Amor recouplings are as brutal as they look’

I can’t even describe how tense it is around those firepits. It’s bonkers because you know half of what’s happened – I knew which girls had recoupled – but have to wait and see the rest.

Because I had no drama in there, I got to go in first and watch it all unravel! Once I’d returned, there was lots of side eyes and glances at each other, and I remember Luca looking at me to try and see if Gemma had recoupled – he was so worried. I remember smiling and nodding my head to be like ‘don’t worry, she’s coming back’ but that’s the most you can do.

I was just sat there though, knowing that Tasha and Indiyah would be coming back with new men. The boys recoupled too, which did make the whole thing a little easier but you could still cut the tension with a knife.
