MAFS’ Thomas labels Whitney ‘a liar and adulterer’ in explosive preview clip

The current series of Married At First Sight UK is slowly coming to a close, and it won't be long until fans find out which couples stayed together and who called it quits.

The E4 show has been drama-filled to say the least, and it looks like there are still more twists to come as a preview for the next show (airing on Wednesday 5 October) shows two contestants embroiled in a row.

The couples will split up into two groups and head on separate nights out, but things soon turn sour amongst one group.

Thomas Hartley, 31, can be see hitting out at Whitney Hughes, 31, in the explosive clip as their fellow MAFS co-stars watch on awkwardly.

As he lifts up a glass of champagne, Thomas says "don't come for me" and points at Whitney.

He can the be seen shouting: "You are a liar and an adulterer!" at Whitney, who looks shocked.

Thomas's comments come after Whitney pursued a romance with fellow contestant Matt Murray, 32, despite them both being married to other people on the E4 show.

Viewers will recall Matt and wife Gemma Rose, as well as Whitney and husband Duka Cav, had tumultuous times during their marriages.

During a mini break in the countryside for all the couples, Whitney and Matt decided to pursue their "cute" vibe as they told their fellow partners and co-stars the news with explosive results at the show's dinner party.

The revelation left Gemma devastated with her and Duka deciding to leave the experiment.

Matt and Whitney then asked the experts – Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas – if they could remain on MAFS as a new couple, with all three eventually agreeing to let them remain in the experiment as a 'dating couple'.

The panel decided to grant them permission to remain on the show, as they revealed they were a "match on paper".

Fans at home were quick to share their thoughts on the decision on social media, with the vast majority of people condemning the show for "making a mockery" of the process.

Married At First Sight UK airs Monday – Thursday on E4 at 9pm.
