Matt Hancock refuses to rule out Im A Celebrity appearance after affair

Shamed MP Matt 'Coco' Hancock is being tipped to star in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The former Health Secretary has been heavily backed to fly out to the Aussie jungle after his scandalous public affair with his aide.

Coco, 43, has been flooded with TV offers since quitting the Cabinet over his workplace snog with mistress Gina Coladangelo, 45.

Last night bookies Ladbrokes slashed the odds of him appearing on I'm A Celeb from 10/1 to just 5/1.

Spokesman Alex Apati said: "It seems Matt Hancock can take his pick when it comes to TV opportunities, and the latest odds suggest he'll soon be joining Ant and Dec."

Coco would follow the lead of fellow Tory MP Nadine Dorries, who appeared in the 2012 series.

I'm A Celeb will be back in Oz this autumn for the first time in three years, after Covid forced a temporary move to Wales.

Hosts Ant and Dec, both 46, are expected to fly out next month.

A spokesman for Coco said: "Matt gets a huge number of offers and is asked to appear on TV shows all the time, but he has not signed up to anything."

However, concerns have been raised across southeast Queensland following the spread of Q Fever.

Q Fever or Query Fever is said to be most commonly transmitted to humans who work with animals and is transmitted through their faeces, urine, milk and general bodily fluids.

Symptoms in humans range from a flu-like fever to significant weight loss, chronic fatigue for as long as 12 months, and damage to organs.

Despite the number of cases growing in the country – Health officials said 11 locals had been confirmed infected with the disease in 2022.

However, new production images of the team setting up in Australia reveal buildings being erected in preparation for the first Bushtucker Trial.

A source told The Sun: "I'm A Celebrity's return to Oz was so important to ITV and was something fans of the show were hugely excited for. Another infectious disease is really the last thing ITV needs."

Another snap showed the infamous bridge between camp and the main studio, where Ant and Dec host every night for three weeks, already up and running.

Elsewhere, pictures show a large swimming pool filled with dirty water and ropes attached to several trees above ahead of a bush-tucker trial.
