Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) was left overwhelmed in Hollyoaks when she received not only a visiting order from Bobby Costello (Jayden Fox), but confirmation that he wants her in his life.
Bobby, who has been sentenced to decades behind bars for claiming the lives of three people in addition to trying to kill a fourth, cut ties with mum Mercedes after he was imprisoned.
Mercedes was hopeful that the killer child would reconsider his position after he had time to think, but her worst fears came true when she received a phone call from him on Mother’s Day, in which he instructed her not to have any more kids, branding her a ‘terrible’ mum.
The harsh words have been going round and round in Mercedes’ mind ever since, with new beau Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood), who turned Bobby in to the police, growing concerned about her, as she spiralled out of control.
Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), meanwhile, was also concerned, though not just for Mercedes and Felix’s well-being, but also for that of his business, believing Mercedes, who has partnered up with him, to be a liability, given that her mind is not on the job.
Determined to lift her spirits, the hard-man paid Bobby a visit in prison last week, urging him to make things right with his mum, reflecting on his own childhood in the children’s home and how lonely it is without having anyone come and visit.
While Bobby maintained his Silas-esque demeanour, it became clear that Warren’s words left him with food for thought, as he telephoned Mercedes and asked her to come to see him.
Mercedes was delighted in Friday’s (April 7) first look edition of the Channel 4 soap, as she entered the facility to hug Bobby, who didn’t reciprocate at first, much to her upset.
But as the conversation progressed, Bobby opened up on how he hopes she’ll keep coming to see him, adding that he ‘needs’ her, as he filled her in on what Warren had said to him.

Bobby then moved closer to Mercedes and took her hand.
Mercedes was overwhelmed to have her little boy back, with subsequent scenes seeing her express her gratitude to Warren for what he did for her.
Bobby, meanwhile, continued to take charge at the prison, with Warren’s words about how one can defend oneself inside clearly paying off.
Hollyoaks continues Monday April 10 at 7pm on E4, or stream the next episode from 12am on Monday.
