Morning Live's Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton 'blown away' as BBC show celebrates huge milestone | The Sun

MORNING Live's Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton admitted they were 'blown away' as the BBC show celebrates a huge milestone.

The presenters were on hand for the first show of the week, live from the studio in Manchester.

Helen, 40, beamed as she sat alongside Gethin with a glass award in front of them.

She said: "Hello, good morning. We want to say a big thank you for all of your lovely messages and comments over the weekend… about this."

As she placed her hand on the award, Gethin, 45, said: "The trophy. On Friday night, at the North West Royal Television Awards, Morning Live won best factual series.

"Which we are still all very blown away by, absolutely, but we just couldn't do it without you [Morning Live viewers], we would not have won it.

"So thank you for trusting us to tell your stories and investigate the things that are most important to you. We do not take it for granted."

Helen then focused her attention on the crew, as she continued: "We also don't take the top team for granted because it's teamwork that makes the dream work.

"Everybody knows, particularly in telly, it's the people behind the scenes that make all of this happen so we are in debt to everyone in this room and behind the camera."

Morning Live viewers were thrilled for the show's success, with one taking to X – formerly Twitter – to say: "So pleased for all the Morning Live crew and very well deserved.
