Most explosive unaired moments of Love Island – villa divide to tearful moments

ITV2's hit dating show Love Island is known for its explosive arguments, romantic dates and dramatic recouplings.

However, not every argument makes it into the final edit with telly bosses restricted by the hour-long episodes each night.

But this year, many dumped Islanders have spoken out against the editing team complaining that vital moments in the South African villa were cut from the show.

As viewers excitedly prepare for the grand final, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside the most explosive unaired moments that have been revealed from the winter series so far.

Relationship breakdown

During his time in the South Africa villa, Casa Amor bombshell Martin Akinola found himself in the middle of a messy love triangle with Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Mohammad.

But that wasn’t the only love triangle he got involved in during his three-week stay on the show, after he revealed an unaired disagreement with Claudia Fogarty and Casey O’Gorman just days before blonde beauty Rosie Williams strutted into the villa.

Speaking on the Love Island spin-off show Aftersun, Martin spilled the tea on Casey and Claudia drama, admitting he knew the pair were doomed to split all along.

He told the host: “She [Claudia] asked me what I think of her and Casey and I told her I see more friendship vibes with them. I don’t see the sexual chemistry.

“I told her that and she asked me what do I think if a bombshell comes in – would Casey switch – and I said, ‘I think so’.”

Apparently, Claudia told Casey about the exchange with Martin which they discussed over by the fire pit.

Martin went on: “I pulled Casey [for a chat] and was like, ‘Yeah, I said it’ and he was like, ‘You know what? You’re right, I agree with you’.”

And his advice proved to be fruitful after Rosie turned the financial advisor’s head the moment she walked into the villa.

Unaired chat

After her premature exit, Layla Al-Momani lifted the lid on her intense chat with Jessie Wynter amid the fallout of her and Will's snog during Casa Amor.

During Jessie's week away from the lavish South African villa, Layla managed to turn the farmer's head after they shared a kiss and shared a bed together.

But it didn't take long before Will broke things off with the brunette beauty as he decided to stay coupled up with Jessie when they reunited around the fire pit.

After being dumped from the villa, Layla took to her Instagram account to share her unseen details about her chat with Jessie which she claimed was heavily edited on the show.

On her Instagram story, Layla was asked if she would explain the "whole story" about Will and Jessie in the villa.

In a video, she revealed: “We have to remind ourselves that it is obviously a TV show and they can’t fit everything in. I've been looking back and seeing some clips and I'm like, ‘That did not look good honey’.

“I don’t know why me telling Jessie that will felt guilty wasn’t included, but think about it, it might have been because it was already said by Will at the recoupling."

She continued: “I said that he felt guilty, that his head was jumbled. I also said that I don’t think any of the three of us were in the wrong and that I wasn’t here to come for Will, I didn’t think Will was a bad guy.

“But equally, just because you say you feel guilty doesn’t mean that’s okay, because it’s not okay. And also Jessie held him accountable for that."

Villa divide

It's fair to say this series of Love Island has been one of the most explosive to date, with Islanders regularly clashing with each other throughout the eight-week programme.

But shortly after she was dumped from the villa, blonde bombshell Ellie Spence revealed that the viewers at home were only getting a taste for the amount of drama going on away from the cameras.

After landing back in the UK, the reality star wasted no time and jumped straight in front of a camera as she dished the tea on her YouTube channel.

She revealed: “There was a girl divide, there was a boy divide, everyone was feuding. There were arguments like left and right that never got aired and I'm like, ‘This is TV gold’.

“I get it’s a dating show and they only have 40 minutes. They can’t show everything but I was there for the drama. So I'm so surprised that none of it got shown.

“But it makes more sense when you understand the underlying s**t that’s going on in there. And there was a lot of tension.”

Almost exit

It's fair to say that not everything on the ITV dating show goes as smoothly as appears on screen.

More than two weeks after being dumped from the villa, Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda have lifted the lid one unaired scene that could have seen Kai Fagan kicked out of the villa early.

Chatting on the most recent episode of Closer’s Love Island Secrets podcast, they revealed one awkward moment that ITV bosses cut from the show.

Just hours after Australian bombshell's Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters entered the villa, the pair were forced to decide which boy would be dumped from the villa: Tom Clare, Kai or Haris Namai.

After taking a couple of minutes to themselves, Jessie stood up and announced who they wanted to be booted from the show.

But what viewers may not know is that the Aussie belle was left utterly mortified after she accidentally said the wrong name.

Olivia revealed: “Jessie, bless her, she kept calling Haris, Kai. So she said Kai’s name and then everyone went to hug Kai.”

“You thought he was leaving at that point,” Maxwell clarified.

“Yeah, we thought he was leaving," she added. "So I went up to her and said, ‘Thank you so much for saving Haris and Tom’ because obviously at that time I was between Haris and Tom.

“And she was like, ‘Oh I said the wrong name’" which forced ITV bosses to refilm the tense dumping early into the night.
