The Crown star Olivia Colman has been spotted on the seafront filming her latest film Wicked Little Letters

The 48-year-old star was photographed between takes at Worthing Lido in West Sussex for the comedy film, in which a group of woman investigate whom has been sending obscene letters.

The Academy Award-winning actress appears alongside Dame Eileen Atkins and Lolly Adefope, who were also pictured on set, reports Sussex Live.

The front of the lido has been completely transformed for Wicked Little Letters.

The façade now has a 1920s theme, while deck chairs have been placed outside the venue.

Dozens of crew members can be seen on site after production for the comedy moved from Arundel, Sussex, to Worthing on October 5.

As the sun began to set on the West Sussex town, a stern-looking Timothy Spall was spotted conducting a scene which also involved Hugh Skinner.

Wicked Little Letters follows a true scandal which emerged in Littlehampton some 102 years ago.

When people in the West Sussex town start receiving scandalous and obscene letters, suspicion immediately falls on fiery Rose (played by Jessie Buckley), who might lose the custody of her daughter. A group of women then set out to solve the mystery.

In one scene shot earlier this week, Olivia could be seen looking at a letter box with a shocked look on her face, evidently taking the job seriously.

Then, in another photo, Olivia had seemingly caught wind of the photographer in attendance as she looked directly into the lens.

A parking suspension is currently in place at Worthing Splashpoint while filming continues.
