Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen posts rare health update after Ravenseat struck down by illness | The Sun

OUR Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen has shared important developments with her devout following after revealing one of her animals was in poor health.

Earlier this week, the star, 48, also known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess,  said her horse, Hazel, was suffering from “severe lameness.” Amanda and her nine children took it in turns to apply saltwater and mash Hazel’s feeds.

Yesterday, the animal lover updated her fans with some positive news, she said: “Leslie my lovely vet gave super guidance and confidence to deal with the lameness trouble. Hazel did have an abscess and finally it burst.

“*Don’t worry, there’s nothing too grim here* Needless to say the relief she felt was almost instantaneous. I too felt that relief.”

Supportive comments rolled in, one said: “Hope she’s running around lush green fields soon.” Another added, “Ah poor Hazel good job Leslie was at hand, well done.”

And: “Wow those abscesses are shocking bless her and she’s got mighty big hooves! It must have been so good for her to be rid of that pain.”

It’s no surprise Amanda felt “relief”, last week she shared how she’d had a “nightmare day” at Ravenseat Farm where her vehicle got stuck in mud and she had to be rescued by  her son Reuben Owen and his red Land Rover.

That same day a horse bolted and escaped while a lame sheep was unable to move. This was on top of the family falling ill.
