Ripley exits Hollyoaks after two years as they leave the village?

Ripley Lennox (Ki Griffin) made a huge decision in Hollyoaks, resolving to leave the village and move on to pastures new.

The market trader, who made their debut in the Chanel 4 soap over two years ago, has been unsure about their place in the village in the wake of their split from Brooke Hathaway (Tylan Grant).

Thursday’s (July 14) first look offering of the serial drama saw Ripley looking through photos on their phone of Brooke, before deleting them.

‘I’ve got something I need to tell you’, Ripley said to Grace Black (Tamara Wall), who had just returned home after a showdown in the village.

‘I wanted you to hear it from me: I’m leaving Chester!’.

Grace was stunned by the news, asking about what this means for Brooke and their stall.

‘Me and Brooke are done’, Ripley responded, ‘and as far as the stall goes, I can set that up anywhere.

‘I’m not sure [where I’m going] yet, but the world is a big place, and I reckon it’s time I explored it.’

No, you’re crying.

Will Ripley follow through on their plan and leave the village?

Ripley rocked up in Hollyoaks back in June 2020, when they launched a stall in Cunningham’s Grande Bazaar.

The character later told friends Ollie Morgan (Gabriel Clark), Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana), and Brooke that they are non-binary in powerful scenes.

‘It’s wonderful to have that positive representation for non-binary people,’ said Ki, at the time.

‘Because we never see it, and it is so beautiful to be able to step in to the shoes of Ripley and be able to be like, guys look, a non-binary character played by a non-binary human.’

Hollyoaks continues Friday July 15 at 7pm on E4, or stream the next episode on All4 from midnight.
