Outlander season 7 episode 5 preview
Outlander’s Young Ian (played by John Bell) left the Mohawk in season five when his wife Emily was unable to give birth and he was exiled.
However, after looking for closure after a chat with Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe), he sought out Emily at her home in Unadilla.
There, he was presented with Emily and her husband Sun Elk’s children, a boy aged five and a girl, three, and a newborn daughter.
It is heavily hinted the young boy is Ian’s son and he even names him “Ian James” which the youngster says he likes.
Addressing the moment, actor John explained: “Talk about the emotions. So many ideas, what ifs, are swimming around his head in this moment.

“I mean, he was basically assured he could not have kids. That was the whole reason why he was exiled from the Mohawk nation.
“So, to come face to face with this huge life changing moment, it’s a lot for him to process.
“But I think there’s also pride there too and happiness that he sees that Emily is happy and her son is being looked after.
“And yes, he might not have been able to be the father that he wishes he could have been but at least he is pleased and happy to know he does have a father and a family and that he is safe.”

It comes after actor John spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about whether Ian will find love again.
He explained: “I’m an optimist. I’m always hopeful. He’s been through enough. He needs a break.
“He needs a nice woman, who’s going to treat him right and he’s going to treat her right. I hope so.”
John continued: “I think Ian’s ready to love again.
“He was so broken after Wakyo’teyehsnonhsa and everything that happened to him and we saw him go through that whole journey of self-acceptance, of self-love and letting go of the past, forgiving people, forgiving himself.
“Now, the Ian we meet in season seven is pretty fully developed. He knows who he is to his core. He’s been through so much.”
