Outlander’s Sam Heughan sparks frenzy with behind-the-scenes glimpse into fire

Outlander star Sam Heughan shared a sneak peek behind the scenes of episode two, which left fans emotional as they remembered the uncertainty of this character’s fate.

Episode two came to a jaw-dropping end after Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) were trapped in the Big House when the property went up in flames.

Although many sighed a breath of relief to see the beloved characters survive, viewers were treated to a glimpse of the production.

Taking to Instagram, Heughan shared a video of himself on set with the ablaze Big House and production crew in full view.

As he panned across the building, it was revealed the crew had actually torched the set, which led to real-life firefighters having to manage the flames.

In the caption, the actor wrote: “The Big House burning down … Jamie and Claire are useless at putting it out but thankfully help was at hand.

In the moments after posting the insightful clip, Heughan was inundated with comments from emotional fans who found the episode hard to watch.

@point.blank_1959 shared: “The whole scene was overwhelming, so well put together. Thumbs up to the production crew, cast and cameras.”

In Death Be Not Proud it was revealed the Frasers had survived the blast as Claire, Jamie, Mr and Mrs Bug were able to flee just in time.

However, tragedy eventually struck when Young Ian (John Bell) killed Mrs. Bug (Sarah Collier) in an unfortunate case of mistaken identity.

But as the family traveled to Wilmington to set sail for Scotland their plans were unexpectedly derailed when Jamie ran into Cornelius Harnett (James Weber Brown).

When he discovered Jamie would not be joining the Revolution, Harnett decided not to let him go which left the Highlander no choice but to join the rebels.
