Paul Foreman takes drastic action as he's given news in Coronation Street | The Sun

TIMES have been tough for Paul Foreman after he was bumped into by a van driven by a drug-fuelled Carla Connor.

And when he's given heart-breaking news, the Coronation Street builder is driven to desperate action.

Although Billy Mayhew decided to give their relationship another shot, life in Weatherfield hasn't been smooth sailing for Paul Foreman (portrayed by Peter Ash).

Matters are going from bad to worse in scenes due to air on ITV next week.

Coming up, while in the solicitor's office, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) inadvertently lets slip to Paul that Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) promised she would cover all his costs.

However, Paul is troubled by this and, later on, packs up his things before telling Dee-Dee he's moving out of No.15a to allow her to find a proper flatmate who will pay their way.

Paul refuses to be a charity case and settles into the flower shop flat.

He then manages to secure a few hours of work as a kitchen porter at the Bistro but hit day takes a shocking turn.

During an appointment with the neurologist, who has taken charge in the aftermath of his van crash, Paul learns he could be suffering from onset motor neurone disease.

In later scenes, Paul attends dinner with the family but will he tell them about his health ordeal?

While that remains to be seen, the reality of what lies ahead sinks in as he sits in the flower shop flat later on, staring at his withered hand.

Despite his health condition, Paul is keen to earn some money to repay Billy and help his twin sister Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) with her wedding expenses.

But when Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) spots Adam having lunch with Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths), he tells Paul all about his connection to villainous Harvey Gaskell – and the builder gets an idea.

Paul soon approaches Damon in the cobbles, breaking the news he doesn't have long to live and is desperate to earn some cash.

Damon hands him the details of a man named Kyle who is looking for a driver as part of an insurance scam.

Will Paul break the law to get the money he needs?

As mentioned above, Paul was left in a bad state when Carla Connor drove an Underworld van into him after being spiked by Stephen Reid.

Since then, Paul's health has been on the decline, which he first tried to ignore.

To make things more harrowing for him, Paul took out a loan to help Gemma pay off her astounding gas bill and Billy flew to the rescue when he learned that his other half was in financial trouble.
