Paul makes a terrible decision after revealing he is dying in Coronation Street

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) has been struggling with money for the past few weeks, following the revelation that he isn’t entitled to compensation in Coronation Street.

Paul was knocked down by Carla Barlow (Alison King) in the Underworld van, and soon after began experiencing problems with the grip in his right hand.

This supposed injury left him unable to work, and Dee Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) encouraged him to push for compensation.

In the meantime, Paul decided to take out a loan to help sister Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) pay for her wedding, believing that he would be able to use the compensation money to pay it back.

Things took a turn for Paul when doctors informed him that his symptoms hadn’t been caused by the accident, meaning that he wouldn’t be entitled to compensation afterall.

Paul was left worrying about how he would pay off his debts and what may be causing his symptoms.

In recent scenes, a neurologist informed Paul that they would be sending him to a specialist in order to test for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Though they had not officially diagnosed him, Paul had convinced himself that he had the condition, and began to make some worrying decisions.

After learning that Gemma’s wedding venue had gone bust, he assured her that he would find the money to help her pay for somewhere else.

Though Gemma accepted that she may have to wait a few years, Paul was keen not to put it off, and insisted that she get married this year.

With Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) unable to offer him anymore shifts, Paul turned to dodgy Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths), desperate for some way of earning some quick cash.

Damon insisted that he didn’t want to get involved, leading Paul to admit that he was dying.

He told Damon that he didn’t have long left, and he wanted to make an impact on his loved ones before he died, but that he needed some money to do that.

Reluctantly, Damon gave him the contact details of a friend, Niall, who was planning an insurance job.

Before long, the job was underway, with Paul miraculously getting away with it, despite a tense run in with a policeman along the way.

At the end of the episode, viewers saw Paul contact Niall once more, asking him to send any future jobs his way.

With Damon having already warned Paul not to cross him, is he heading down a dangerous path by getting involved with criminals?
