Emmerdale confirm exit of loved character as they ditch village for new a life

Emmerdale: Vinny and Naomi chat about club night

It looks as though fans of the ITV soap will be saying goodbye to Naomi Walters (played by Karene Peter) in upcoming scenes as Emmerdale confirms her exit.

The long-lost daughter of Charles (Kevin Mathurin) arrived in the Dales last year after it was revealed she was one of Nicola King’s (Nicola Wheeler) attackers.

Naomi has had a drama-filled time in the soap so far and it looks as though her exit will be just as dramatic.

Official spoilers reveal that her estranged grandad Victor Anderson (Eddie Osei) is saddened by her money woes after she opened up to him about her debts.

Wanting to help, he suggests going to Vinny Dinge (Bradley Johnson) to try and get some of the cash he won from poker.

Taking his advice, Naomi decides to go to Vinny as the pair have struck up a close bond since the death of Vinny’s wife Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).

She’s taken aback when he offers to lend her the money and following Victor’s words, she accepts.

Delighted that she’s now got some extra cash behind her, her grandad suggests she keep it instead of paying her debts to people she owes money to.

Tempted by his words, Naomi knows she has a big decision to make.

Later on, Naomi is accused of giving out free pints to her grandad and is humiliated by the assumption.

Furious, she makes the rash decision to quit her job at the Woolpack and storms out.

Running into her grandad, she vents about what’s just happened and becomes seriously tempted by his suggestion.

With Naomi’s exit imminent, it’s possible Emmerdale fans will see her flee the village with the money to start a new life.

Ahead of the soap star’s exit, Karene paid tribute to her co-stars Kevin and Eddie, who play her dad and brother in the show.

She said: “Being on Emmerdale doesn’t feel like work anyway, but Kevin makes it not feel like work at all.

“We get on very well – he’s looked after me since the start and we have a genuine friendship.

“It’s the same with Eddie, we get on like a house on fire. It feels as though we’ve known each other forever.”
