Peter Andre in awkward misunderstanding as he appears on This Morning – leaving Josie Gibson roaring with laughter | The Sun

PETER Andre baffled This Morning's hosts today when he got in a huge mix-up with Josie Gibson.

She congratulated the singer on 30 years – the amount of time he's been in showbiz.

However, Peter thought she meant it had been three decades since he last met Josie, who is fronting the show this week.

That's perhaps an unlikely amount of time to have passed given that the TV star is only 37.

Former Big Brother star Josie told him: "What made me laugh is I went 'Congratulations on 30 years' and he went: 'What, since I met you?'"

Peter, 49, reasoned: "Well yeah because you said 'I can't believe it's been 30 years.'

"I went: 'Has it been that long since I've seen you?' You went: 'No.' Typical me."

However, co-host Craig Doyle, who is older than Josie at 51, added: "Hate to shock you, it's near enough 30 years since we did our first interview."

Suddenly feeling old Peter replied: "Well thank you for that. I was feeling great until about five minutes ago."

However, he told the This Morning pair: "It is amazing when I think back how much England's been incredible to me.

"All the things I've done and all the people I've met and see them all these years later, it's brilliant."

Josie told both Peter and co-host Craig: "You two have aged very well. In fact I think you've got better with age."

Peter replied: "You can stay. Or, can I stay?"

While on the show Peter looked genuinely touched when she was presented with a special cake showing a fondant version of himself in the 90s busting out of the top.

He spoke to Josie and Craig about his latest role appearing in Grease: The Musical and later posed with the cake creation.

Peter's musical breakthrough began in 1992 when he released Drive Me Crazy, followed by the more successful Gimme Little Sign.

But it was the hit single Mysterious Girl, which came out in 1996, that cemented his star status, reaching No2 in the charts that year and No1 when it was re-released in 2004.
