Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley appeared to be in a rather playful mood during the latest episode, as he compared his colleague Richard Arnold to a "plastic" Ken doll.

On Wednesday morning's show, entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold joined hosts Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley in the studio to discuss the new Barbie movie.

But before he dished the details on the new flick, Richard Madeley said: "It says here, that he's a Barbie girl in a Barbie world, life in plastic, it's fantastic – a bit like you, that sums you up doesn't it."

Richard Arnold then jokingly said: "It really does!

"I haven't had that many procedures we can speak of but yes!"

As the presenters laughed, they also showed an image of Richard Arnold dressed like Ken.

Sporting bleach blonde hair and a denim jacket, Richard compared himself to a younger Gary Barlow.

The news comes after the second trailer for the highly anticipated film Barbie was released on Tuesday along with promotional images of the cast.

Starring Margot Robbie as protagonist Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, the film also features a multitude of other stars including singer Dua Lipa and Ugly Betty star America Ferrera.

Fans of the film praised the trailer, with many noting that the plot was still being kept largely under wraps, and predicting that a major plot twist could possibly be on the cards.

Taking to Twitter in their droves, fans shared their thoughts.

One social media user wrote: "The fact that they’ve shown very little plot makes me feel like there’s a very big twist that’s gonna rock our world."

Another echoed: "I love how they gave nothing away about the plot, I’m assuming they end up in the real world, somewhere in LA."

While a third added: "The casting for this movie looks perfect and I can’t wait to watch it in theatres."

Barbie is directed by actress and screenwriter Greta Gerwig and will be available to watch in cinemas across the UK from July 21.
