Roy undertakes an emotional mission in Corrie to change a life

Beloved Roy Cropper (David Neilson) continues to focus on helping other people in Coronation Street soon, as he attempts to assist Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) with getting back on her feet.

We know that Roy has a history of taking troubled characters under his wing. Over the years, he’s been there for the likes of Becky (Katherine Kelly), Carla (Alison King) and Shona (Julia Goulding), determined to create a positive impact on their lives.

Most recently, Roy offered Lauren a place to stay after learning that she intended to sleep on the streets.

Sorry, this video isn’t available any more.

Lauren returned to the cobbles a few months ago after time in Griff’s (Michael Condron) extremism gang. She has tried to stay on the right path, but seeing ex-boyfriend Max (Paddy Bever) spend time with Sabrina (Luana Santos) has seen Lauren struggle to process her emotions.

After another awkward encounter with Max, Lauren told Roy that she didn’t want her job at the café as living in Weatherfield with Max so close was too embarrassing.

Roy told Lauren that she could stay in his flat for the night to prevent sleeping rough, but a troubled Lauren misunderstood Roy and thought he would want her to have sex with him in return.

Coming up, as Max starts his new job in the salon, David (Jack P Shepherd) tells him it’s best he stays well clear of Lauren.

Meanwhile, Roy is chatting to Lauren about contacting social services, who will help find her somewhere to live.

Lauren insists that she’ll sort herself out, but will Roy accept that?

Or will he continue to come up with ways to help?
