Ruth Langsford makes cheeky ‘feud’ swipe on Loose Women over date quip

Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford is the latest star to wade in on the alleged 'feud' and friendship breakdown between This Morning presenters and longtime pals Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

In Tuesday's show (May 16), the former This Morning presenter made a veiled comment towards her former programme as she appeared to comment on the alleged 'feud' between its two presenters.

Discussing a segment about letting friends set you up on a blind date, Ruth took the opportunity to make a comment about feuding which her co-stars and viewers understood.

Ruth, who's husband Eamonn has also commented on the feud this week, discussed blind dates with her co-stars as she teased fellow ITV star Coleen Nolan.

As Coleen declared she would trust her fellow panellists to pick a blind date for her, Ruth cheekily replied: "You could trust me, although we might be feuding at the time!

"If we were feuding I'd pick you a really horrible one!"

Ruth has previously had a fight with Phillip when he cut her off during a segment between This Morning and Loose Women in 2019.

It's not just Ruth who has poked fun at Phil and Holly, as her husband Eamonn Holmes also jested at the pair as he labelled them the "best actors".

During his morning show on GB News on Monday he reflected on Sunday night's BAFTAs and highlighted Phil and Holly as he said: "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.

"They may or may not be together on the telly today.

"The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it."

In the past Eamonn has not hidden his dislike for Phillip, as he called out the presenter as “passive-aggressive” and also claimed he is "renowned for snubbing people".

The friendship between Phil and Holly has broken down lately with the pair reportedly "barely speaking" outside the ITV studio.

Last week, Phillip addressed the feud and called Holly 'his rock' in a statement to The Sun: "As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends — as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

"Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her. The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.

"And Holly’s support throughout meant the world to me, as did the support of my bosses at ITV, my editor Martin Frizell and the whole This Morning family, including our amazing viewers."
