Celebrity Big Brother winner Rylan is set to return to the series – Nicola McLean predicts.

Our Daily Star Big Brother columnist estimates Rylan will return to the show after being left "devastated" this year after he wasn't given the call for the reboot. Nicola said: "Yeah, I would not be surprised if Rylan comes back for the celebrity one as he is so much better."

The Page 3 icon also said the show had "missed a trick" and made the wrong choice by booking AJ Odudu and Will Best instead. Nicola continued: "I think they're really missing Rylan. I know he really wanted to do it as well. So, I just think they've missed a trick.

"I think that everything that he touches, people love, you know, even him and his mum on Gogglebox. So I'm just shocked he put himself well out there and they didn't choose him.

"Emma took herself out of it, which I was shocked actually because she was bloody brilliant as well. Rylan even bought another Diary Room chair, I saw it on Instagram. He is like the ultimate Big Brother fan. So yeah, I think I do I think we're missing him."

Nicola also slated the after-show Late and Live and claimed it felt "disjointed" with guests who didn't even watch the show. The former model explained: "If you have two hosts, you should have one just doing the main show and one just doing the after-show. You know, it just seems all a bit disjointed."

"The guests they have on as well, they don't even seem like they're watching the show. They need people on there who have been ex-housemates so they can relate to what the contestants are going through. It looks like they've just picked random people and that's not what the public wants. So, they really need to sort that out really as it used to be so good to watch."

Rylan spoke about being gutted about not getting the role on Loose Women and said he "sillily expected" and he would have "gone back to Big Brother in a heartbeat". He told viewers how he made it abundantly clear that he would love to return to the show and found out he wasn't going to be booked for it right up to the last minute.

Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm
