Sarah Ferguson calls Prince Andrew a ‘good, kind man’
The Duchess of York, 63, appeared on the latest instalment of Good Morning Britain to speak with hosts Kate Garraway and Adil Ray about her life.
When asked why she is not attending King Charles’ Coronation on May 6, Sarah shared: “I’m not [going], it’s a state occasion, and being divorced I don’t think you can have it both ways.
“I am divorced and I’m really loving being divorced to my ex-husband, not from him but to him, it’s important to differentiate.”
Sarah told ITV viewers she can still “be there” in private, appearing to take a swipe at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
She added: “That’s a lovely feeling to be part of, it really is. And as I said you can’t have it both ways. You must not sit on the fence. You’re either in or out, don’t muck around.”
“The great thing about this moment in time is the unity of the family, and I think Charles and Camilla are doing an exceptional job at unifying the family,” Sarah added.
About 2,000 guests are scheduled to attend the coronation which is being held in Westminster Abbey and broadcast on BBC.
Prince Harry is set to attend the event but his wife Meghan and their two young children Prince Archie Harrison and Princess Lilibet Diana will stay at home in California.

Elsewhere in the Good Morning Britain interview, Sarah opened up about Prince Andrew being a “very good grandfather” to his grandchildren.
Sarah and the disgraced royal share Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The couple divorced in 1996 but they remain close friends to this day, with Sarah standing by his side in recent years.
“With Prince Andrew, he’s such a good man,” she added. “He’s a kind good man, and I think the spotlight needs to come off him and let him get on with his life to rebuild.”
Andrew was accused of sexual abuse by Virginia Giuffre who alleges she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein.
The royal has strenuously denied any allegations made against him over the matter.
However, he was stripped from his royal titles as a result of the allegations and has not been a working royal for three years.
