Scared of the Dark fans in stitches as Chloe Burrows mistakes Nicola Adams for Girls Aloud member

Scared of the Dark fans were left in stitches as the show kicked off on Sunday night, when contestant Chloe Burrows mistakenly thought Olympic boxer Nicola Adams was a member of Girls Aloud.

The hilarious gaffe happened during the first portion of the show, when the contestants each entered the pitch black bunker for the first time and came face to face with their fellow competitors.

Unable to see who they were speaking to, the stars were reliant on voice and touch alone, but even that wasn’t enough to help Love Island star Chloe Burrows get to grips with the real identity of world famous boxer, Nicola Adams.

As Nicola introduced herself, a delighted Chloe soon exclaimed: “From Girls Aloud?!” Prompting widespread laughter from her fellow contestants and from viewers at home.

Taking to social media to share their delight at the faux pas, one viewer wrote: “From Girls Aloud” phahahahh stop”

Meanwhile another cheekily added: “Ah yes, I remember those iconic Girls Aloud singles where Nicola Adams sung Sound Of The Underground…”

“Girls Aloud? Ha!” Shared another fan, alongside a string of laughing emojis.

Despite the mistake, Chloe soon moved past it, and was even tasked with taking on the first challenge of the series later in the show, in order to secure the contestants a delicious meal for the night.

Terrified by the dark, however, she barely managed one minute into the challenge, which involved navigating a dark room, before she said the fabled words “I’m scared of the dark” and was immediately pulled from the challenge.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on the matter, as many slated Chloe for refusing to even attempt to give the challenge a fair shot.

“I've never heard of this woman before and already she can't do the task. Equivalent of taking the minus offer on,” wrote one fan.

While a second soon added: “Thought Chloe would at least give it a go… secure setting however terrifying it is to have a man in chains rattling in the dark.”

While a third didn’t hold back as they quipped: “The shows called ‘Scared of the Dark’ darling not ‘a big payout because the love island limelight has died’”

Before a fourth added: “I actually don’t understand why you’d sign up for a show in the pitch dark if you were that scared.”

Not everyone was quite so unsympathetic however, as one fan wrote: “I don’t blame her to be honest. She’s scared of the dark and she was also going to have have someone follow her around. Not a great way to get over your phobia.”
