DAVID Hide's new bond with Susan takes a turn this week as Ollie's actions catch up with him once again.

The nurse has no other choice but to come clean. Get the lowdown on all the upcoming Casualty drama.

1. Susan learns the truth

No matter how much he wishes he could, David (portrayed by Jason Durr) is unable to escape the truth of Ollie's actions.

In recent scenes of the medical drama, David was enjoying his connection with former patient Susan.

But the relationship is not off to a great start as David clearly left out the face he's the father of a school shooter.

Susan finds out the truth by reading an article and rushes through the ED commotion to confront David about his identity.

While David tries to tell her he doesn't view Ollie as his son – other than in a biological sense – there's nothing to it.

Susan insists their relationship is built on a lie.

2. Rob's mum appears in the ED

Back in the ward, David is haunted by the past again when he encounters Zoe Tranter – Rob's mother.

As BBC One viewers know, Ollie was heavily manipulated into taking part in the school shooting which led to his death by Rob.

Ollie agreed to be his accomplice, scarred by the bullying he was put through, but backed out of their suicide pact after the deed was done.

Rob was shot dead by authorities on the scene.

Coming up, upon seeing her, David jumps to the conclusion that Zoe deliberately overdosed to escape her own son's actions.

He gives her a helping hand and some wise words of advice by telling her that the best way they can cope is to distance themselves from the monsters their sons became.

But he doesn't get the reaction he was expecting.

Zoe is appalled and accuses the nurse of being the monster by disowning his son.

She asserts Rob will always be a part of her, no matter what he'd done.

To make matters worse, she tells David that he got the wrong end of the stick – she never tried to end her own life but actually collapsed because she ran out of her epilepsy medication.

Is she telling the truth?

3. David makes a shock discovery

Zoe's husband Jack arrives in the ED and is just as shocked by David's behaviour.

The nurse is angrily confronted by Jack who accuses of Ollie of being the mastermind behind the school shooting.

But Tristan – Natalia Malinovksy's boyfriend – has something that could reassure David.

He tells him that Ollie chose not to kill Natalia when he had the chance

This prompts a moved David to apologise to Zoe for his harsh words and she responds with the hope things will become easier for the both of them.

David is then encouraged to go home by Dylan Keogh (William Beck) and he takes the opportunity to speak with Susan.

He apologises to her for being dishonest and, while she accepts his apology, David knows their relationship will not be salvaged.

Instead of fighting this, David makes his way to Ollie's grave when he places a photo of the two of them on the headstone.

Is this the first step out of his grieving state?

4. Paul overcomes his fear

Speaking of getting over things, Paul (played by Paul Popplewell) is forced to face his fear of horses in an unexpected way.

When PC Hill is treated in the ED, leaving his horse Max behind, outside the ambulance station, Paul is given some huge responsibility.

Paul initially thought Max would be a person and is taken aback to find out it's actually a horse.

Despite his fear of the animal, Paul vows he will guard Max with his life – and soon bonds with him, much to Robyn and Ethan's amusement.

What could go wrong?

5. Marcus walks on eggshells

Meanwhile, management consultant Marcus Fidel (Adam Sina) struggles in the ED.

To top it all off, Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) is adamant on them keeping their relationship a secret.

He first tells her that he has spoken to the board but she quickly brushes him off.

Marcus tries to win over the rest of the team with a box of doughnuts but there's very little enthusiasm.

Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson) explains they'd rather have more staff, equipment and beds.

Following a difficult shift, Marcus apologises to the team and promises he will do better to increase security.

But what about Stevie?

6. Stevie lashes out…

Stevie keeps up with her frosty behaviour towards Marcus in hospital and dismisses Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) when she points out he may want to take their relationship to the next level.

Instead of listening to her friend, Stevie turns all her attention to a police who has been stabbed – PC Hill.

The pair hit it off but PC Hill is disappointed to find out she isn't actually single – and a jealous Marcus witnesses their exchange.

Marcus summons Stevie to his office, where he tries it on.

To make matters worse for himself, he also reveals a piece of bad news that she already knew.

Fuming and feeling he's been wasting her time, Stevie warns him never to do it again.

7. … and gives Marcus a chance

But soon enough, there's another setback on shift for Stevie and she's left feeling despondent.

Marcus reassures her, telling her that none of it is her fault, leaving her reeling.

Stevie realises she may value their relationship more than she'd thought and she agrees to join him for dinner.

Could this develop into something more?
