I’m A Celeb: Shaun gets fright in the night after snoring
Scottish television personality Gillian McKeith made her entrance on I’m A Celebrity South Africa as a late arrival during the latest episode of the programme.
While many of the celebrities were thrilled to welcome her into camp, her former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! campmate Shaun Ryder did not look impressed.
The pair famously locked horns when they starred in the ITV series filmed in Australia back in 2010.
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph room about Gillian’s arrival, Shaun, 60, said: “Gillian came out of a box. I was very surprised. I probably could have done without it being Gillian, yeah.”
Gillian told viewers: “How do I feel about Shaun Ryder being here? I said hello, and he said hello, it was all very cordial. What can I say?”
Back in camp, Paul Burrell asked Shaun about his last experience of being in camp with her, adding: “Is she as mad as a box of frogs?”
The Happy Mondays singer bluntly replied: “Yeah… I nearly killed her.”
Back in the Bush Telegraph, Shaun added: “I’ve been trying to be nice to her. I’m a different person, whatever. I don’t think Gillian was pleased to see me.”
Later on, the duo were forced together to take on a challenge outside of the camp, and many of the celebrities feared they would clash.

However, they appeared to work well together and Shaun even hugged Gillian after they had completed the problem-solving task which involved matching wires up with countries on a board.
Gillian shared: “Look at the two of us together, getting along and working together so well.”
“It was a surprise, a pleasant surprise,” Gillian added. “We have turned a corner!”
Shaun echoed her comments and the pair returned to camp with beaming smiles on their faces.
Elsewhere, former model Janice Dickinson and Jordan Banjo faced an I’m A Celebrity classic in the first eating trial of the series.
Janice had to devour a large fish eye which left hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly squeamish as she was worried “it’s going to squirt”.
She had to turn down some foods, such as a cow tongue and a crocodile anus, and won five stars for the group.
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
