Spoilers: Dan Spencer for surprise 'dalliance' with villager in Emmerdale

Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) doesn’t have the best history when it comes to relationships in Emmerdale.

Does anyone in that village?!

Currently single, Dan is focused more on his daughter Amelia (Daisy Campbell) and time with the lads than a relationship…but could that all be about to change?

As we mentioned in our recent chat with Coronation Street’s Bill Fellows, soap cast have just started filming early autumnal storylines.

Yes, very hard to believe, given the fact it’s the middle of July.

With Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary fast approaching, we’re keeping an eye on any cast members teasing what’s ahead for their characters later this year and for Dan, it’s looking exciting!

‘There may be a dalliance with a certain person in the village! We’re working on that at the moment’, Liam Fox recently told us.

Sounds interesting, but who could it be?

Putting the future to one side for a moment, let’s talk about the present.

Dan’s daughter Amelia is currently experiencing body confidence issues.

The teen believes if she consumes weight-gain syrup and changes the way she looks, she will gain more likes and followers on social media.

It’s a sad storyline for the father-daughter duo, as Dan wonders why Amelia didn’t feel she could be honest with him about her emotions:

‘She doesn’t directly open up’, Liam reveals.

‘There are comments about her body image, self-doubt and not being good enough. Dan has become more aware that Amelia isn’t happy with her image and how she looks, he can’t get his head around that at all.

‘He’s worried about her mental health, her own self-belief and what drove her to take that syrup in the first place.’

As if that wasn’t enough, Dan is yet to discover Amelia has been paying secret visits to Noah (Jack Downham) – currently in prison for stalking and harassment.

Teasing Dan’s reaction to his daughter’s news, Liam said: ‘Dan would be furious! With everything Noah has done, he wouldn’t want Amelia anywhere near him.’
