Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly introducing urgent rules to make sure spoilers don't ruin episodes before they air.

The BBC dancing show has been the victim of leaks in the past and it's said the show's head honchos are cracking down to make sure it doesn’t happen during the new series, which gets under way this month.

It might not come as a surprise that results get leaked as Saturday's live show and Sunday's results show are filmed on the Saturday in front of a live audience, meaning a handful of people know who gets the boot.

According to the Daily Mail, Strictly bosses fear that a "mole" working on the show has leaked the 2023 pairings for this year's series.

And it's said they are determined to "nail" whoever is responsible for leaking results.

A source told the Mail: "Enough is enough, it isn't fair on the fans, they look forward to tuning in to see who will be dancing together.

“So now procedures are being put in place to see if the mole can be caught though it's tricky because there are so many people involved with Strictly but the bosses are determined to nail he or she.”

An estimated 700 people get to watch the Strictly live shows every week, and they're already banned from using their phones inside the studio in a bid to stop naughty fans spoiling the show.

Strictly is waltzing back onto TV screens in just a few days, with Angela Rippon, Les Dennis, Krishnan Guru-Murthy and the late Jade Goody’s son Bobby Brazier among the crop of new celebs donning sequins and sparkles for the competition.

Other contestants this year include Nigel Harman, Eddie Kadi, Nikita Kanda, Jody Cundy, Amanda Abbington, Adam Thomas, Layton Williams, Annabel Croft, Ellie Leach, Zara McDermott, Angela Scanlon.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday 16 September from 6.35pm.
