STRICTLY Come Dancing bosses are terrified the winter flu will wipe out their cast after Adam Thomas fell ill and was banned from rehearsing.
The celebrities and their pro partners have been warned to take all precautions to stay well – even if it means missing precious rehearsal time.
Adam, 35, revealed earlier this week he had been forced to sit out training with Luba Mushtuk after struggling with illness which is feared could affect others.
A show source said: “It sounds silly but the winter flu could wipe out Strictly’s stars – and that would be a nightmare.
“Adam was forced to miss training after being ill and is trying to battle through it now.
“It would be worse if he was to spread it around and being so close with his pro partner Luba means she is more likely to get ill.

“Strictly have been banning the celebs and the pro’s from training if they’re ill in a bid to stop them from spreading it.
“Naturally everyone on the show just wants to show up and carry on, but if they’re spreading their lurgy it could have a big knock on effect.
“Strictly should be about sparkles and sequins – not snot.”
Adam returned to training today – but his place on the show could be at risk because he’s missed so much practice.

Speaking to The Sun, Adam said: “Absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder because I’m constantly ringing her going, ‘God, I love you so much’.
“She just rang me, crying, going, ‘You don’t know how much it means’.
“I’m so used to being at home all the time as well. We are definitely missing each other.

"I never in my wildest dreams thought that it would be as tough as it is.”
Adam was still on Emmerdale when he appeared on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.
He went on to quit the show two years later in 2018.
He rejoined the cast of Waterloo Road in 2023 as Donte Charles — a role he had previously played, only this time his character, a former pupil, is all grown up and has become the school caretaker.
