Strictly Come Dancing star Tyler West taken to hospital just weeks before launch

Strictly Come Dancing star Tyler West has been taken to hospital just weeks before the show launches on BBC One.

The Kiss FM host, 26, revealed to fans on his Instagram stories that he’d been sent to A&E sharing a photo of himself in a hospital waiting room.

West thanks the NHS staff for all their ‘hard work’ and assured ‘everything is cool’ ahead of the contest.

The Kiss FM star didn’t specify why he was in hospital but said over the black and white photo: ‘Everything’s cool, but wanna shout out the NHS, especially the paramedic and A&E team.

‘We are truly blessed with all the hard work they do, they really don’t get enough credit. Thank you.’

West was confirmed as one of the 14 new famous faces who complete the Strictly 2022 line-up.

Confirming the news, he said: ‘I am SO gassed to be joining the Strictly family! As I started writing this I already got cramp. It’s going to be one crazy incredible journey which will no doubt be SO far outside my comfort zone.

‘It’s a show that means so much to me and my family and I can’t wait to seriously shake a leg on that shiny dance floor… with a side of sequins.’

He’ll be competing against the likes of Helen Skelton, Matt Goss and X Factor star Fleur East who is currently the bookie’s favourite to lift the Glitterball trophy.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: ‘Our traders clearly think Fleur will have the X Factor on the dancefloor this autumn, and the current odds suggest it’ll take something pretty spectacular to stop her from taking home this year’s Glitterball Trophy.’

EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis became was the first ever Deaf contestant to take part in Strictly and eventually won the show in 2022 with her dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
