"I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years.

"Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down.

"My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further."

Adam, who won two gold medals and a silver at the Tokyo Olympic games in 2020, was partnered with Kayta Jones on Strictly.

The Russian pro was struck by the curse in 2018 when she kissed comedian Seann Walsh while married to fellow dancer Neil Jones.

Adam and Katya certainly got fans talking over their sizzling chemistry.

Just weeks into the competition viewers were left shocked when Adam appeared to "try to kiss" Katya after their sizzling Argentine Tango

It came just hours after Eiri flashed her toned tummy in a mirror selfie, captioning it "not worried".

The mum-of-one later shared her shock reaction to the near kiss with a TikTok video of her pretending to cry that was captioned "watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman live on TV".

Despite what happened, Adam and Eiri went from strength to strength and even enjoyed a lavish holiday to Dubai with their son in December last year.

The pair met on Tinder while they both attended Loughborough University.

Adam trained in the pools and Eiri studied fine art.

They went Instagram official in January 2020 and after the first national lockdown it was revealed that they were expecting their first child.
