Tom Fletcher says he’s ‘so proud’ of Amy Dowden
Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden made a special appearance on Saturday night’s show after shaving off her hair, leaving Tom Fletcher to praise her bravery.
Tom joined Lorraine on Thursday morning when she asked: “You have been watching of course because I know you love it, but also in touch with the lovely Amy, wasn’t it great to see her? Fantastic to see her!”
Tom expressed with joy: “Oh my goodness, seeing her go back obviously at such a difficult time, I cannot tell you how proud I was.
“I messaged her yesterday to tell her she looked so amazing and the fact she chose not to go on wearing a wig!
“Amazing role model for anyone who is going through cancer treatment at the moment. An amazing role model and everyone was so supportive and proud of her.”

Tom and Amy were partners on the show back in 2021 and were the eighth couple to be booted from the show after failing to impress with their Couples Choice to On My Own from Les Misérables.
After the show and following her appearance on Saturday, she took to her Instagram account to express the love she felt from all the support she had received.
Alongside photos from her night at the show, she wrote: “There are no words to describe the pure joy and happiness I felt last night being back with my @bbcstrictly family.
“It is their love and support that gave me the courage to decide last minute to step out and brave the bald.
“It’s messages like the above which is why I use my platform to raise awareness and hopefully give others confidence #baldisbeautful.

“Not saying it was easy and I still miss my long hair dearly but gosh did it feel liberating and it’s breast cancer awareness month which gave me that extra push to do it.
“Can’t wait to be back there with the Strictly family again soon.”
Amy also recently posted a candid video on her Instagram of her shaving the rest of her hair off, as she continues to open up about her cancer journey.
The video was accompanied by a caption which read: “Taking control – The hardest step so far. I tried my best to save it. I know it’s only hair but these past few months I’ve had what feels like so much taken away from me that has made me not feel like Amy.
“I’m feeling empowered and positive! To everyone on their own journey, whatever that may be, I’m sending love, power, strength and courage.”
