Strictly Come Dancing star and comedian Ellie Taylor has been going from strength to strength each week but somehow still seems to fall short of the leaderboard’s top spot. Last week, she and partner Johannes Radebe performed the Tango to the Casualty theme tune and scored an impressive 30 out of a possible 40. However, body language expert Darren Stanton has explained why he thinks Ellie will be the next contestant to leave the show.
Receiving her comments from the judges, Motsi Mabuse complimented: “I think the opening was so good, you stayed in character.
“What I see every single week is improvement, this is a marathon and you guys are slowly getting there and I just love your development.
“A little bit more action, a little bit more understanding but I loved it.”
Shirley Ballas added: “We are looking for small improvements and can I say that your left arm where you connected to him was absolutely brilliant. So that was a nice improvement.
“It could have had a little bit more usage from the standing foot, a little more shifting across the floor but you maintained a lovely frame and you have a lovely chemistry together.”
Anton Du Beke picked up on Ellie’s head position and branded it “perfect” with Craig Revel Horwood adding that he thought their dance was “generic” and “lobotomised”.
Picking up on the friendship and chemistry that Ellie and Johannes have, body language expert Darren Stanton for Betfair said: “Although she enjoys a great friendship and relationship with partner Johannes, Ellie may find herself at risk in the upcoming weeks of the competition.
“She may be let down by her technical abilities, especially as she and Johannes have taken longer than the other pairings to develop a chemistry and bond between them.
“As a result, Ellie could be at risk of elimination in the weeks to come, if not next weekend.”
Alongside Darren’s analysis bookmakers William Hill has also revealed that Ellie is favourite to leave the show with 2/1 odds.
Speaking on the recent odds, Tony Kenny, Head of Sponsorship PR at William Hill, said: “Ellie hasn’t made a standout impression during her time on the show so far.
“She is sticking to the middle or the lower end of the table. However, she may yet surprise us.
“Often, celebrities struggle in the early stages of the competition, but then manage to become a firm favourite after a showcase performance – which we may yet see from Ellie.”
This weekend, Ellie and Johannes will be performing their Couples Choice dance to I Put A Spell On You by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker & Kathy Najimy.
Last week, it was comedian and actress Jayde Adams and partner Karen Hauer who were booted from the show.
When asked about her time on the show by host Tess Daly, Jayde said it was the “best thing” she’s ever done in her life, before praising her partnership with Karen.
“I will carry it to my grave, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with you [Karen] and learning about so much that will go into my own stuff, in my own work.
“You are one of the most gifted people I have ever worked with. Nothing holds a candle to the way this show is run and the way people are looked after.
“In this industry where so many people aren’t looked after, this shows every other show, it’s incredible, well done everyone.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday from 6:30pm on BBC One, followed by the results show on Sunday.
