Strictly’s Ellie Taylor gets emotional after ‘harsh’ judging for her Rumba

Strictly Come Dancing's Ellie Taylor got emotional on Saturday night for the "harsh" judging over her Rumba with pro partner Johannes Radebe.

During the latest instalment, Ellie, 38, and Johannes, 35, took to the dance floor to perform the Rumba to Alone by Heart.

However, the performance wasn't a hit with the judges as they delivered their feedback with judge Craig Revel Horwood even scoring a three.

Craig, 57, said: "I thought it was a little bit stiff actually and you were just walking around and not actually dancing. There was no resistance, lacked any sort of hip action what we are looking for mainly in this dance. Therefore, it lacked passion in this case."

While Shirley Ballas said that the "fluidity and flexibility" of the body was "totally missing", she added: "Just for me, this week, it didn't fit. I am so sorry."

Speaking to Claudia Winkleman ahead of her score, Ellie, who topped the leaderboard last week for the Halloween Special, got emotional as she said to Johannes: "I'm just so sorry they didn't like it."

To which Johannes immediately said: "No!" while Claudia added: "No, no, absolutely not" as she pointed out some of the judges' more positive comments.

And when it came to scoring, it was revealed that Craig had given three, Motsi Mabuse seven, Shirley five and Anton Du Beke seven, totalling 22 points.

Show watchers were quick to hit back at the "harsh" comments and scores as one person tweeted: "A 3? What the hell Craig? And a 5 from Shirley? That's a bit harsh isn't it. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

A different account put: "I normally agree with Craig but that 3 was unduly harsh #Strictly."

Another follower wrote: "Usually agreed with Craig, that 3 was way too harsh though. Seen far worse score more #Strictly."

While a different viewer added: "Ellie looks so sad, Craig was way too harsh on her #Strictly."
