Strictly: Jody Cundy on his decision to join the 2023 cast
Strictly Come Dancing star Jody Cundy has been dealt a crushing blow hours before the launch show.
The 15 celebrity contestants will take to the ballroom floor tonight for the first time with their professional dance partners.
And while there will be no elimination this weekend, the bookmakers have already been coming up with their own theories about who could be eliminated first and who could lift the Glitterball Trophy.
Ladbrokes believe that Bobby Brazier is already the hot favourite to win the competition, with Angela Scanlon and Layton Williams close behind the soap star.
However, it is bad news for Jody who is the current outsider with odds of 50/1.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Les Dennis are also the outsiders of the competition with odds of 40/1 and 33/1 of winning.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Bobby Brazier has been popular with punters ever since it was announced he’d be taking part in the next series of Strictly.
“Fans already can’t get enough of him and at this point, the Glitterball Trophy is very much his to take home.”
Despite being the show’s outsider to win, Jody is keen to show viewers what you can achieve with a disability and also hopes to raise his profile before the Paralympics next year.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, the cyclist said: “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you don’t get to do it every year. People don’t get asked to do this all of the time.
“This isn’t a Paralympic year, so it’s a way of kind of promoting disabilities, promoting myself, and getting myself out there in the public eye.
“So hopefully when it comes to the games, it gives them somebody to follow and they know what Paralympics is and how it works.”
The launch show will see the contestants showing off their skills for the first time in front of the judges – Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse.
The celebs can rest easy knowing they are safe from elimination, but next weekend, they will have to fight for a place in the competition.
The two pairings with the least amount of public votes will have to perform again the dance-off.
It is then up to the judges to decide who they want to stay in the competition and who they want to go.
Strictly Come Dancing begins at 6.35pm on BBC One.
