Shirley Ballas gets emotional as her mum surprises her

Shirley Ballas has talked about the impact of “bullying” as she reflected on the trolls she’s had to deal with during her time on Strictly Come Dancing.

Talking about her own mental health, Shirley explained: “I’ve had struggles over the years and I think it’s in our family…

“I lost my brother. But not my mother, my mother’s always been the same.

“Maybe she has struggled over the years but she is very positive, she’s the only one I know that got through lockdown without a moan or a groan.

“But throughout the years, through bullying and varying divorces and things like that, I have struggled.”
