Stu incensed in Coronation Street as player Stephen flirts with Yasmeen

Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) turns his attention to Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) in upcoming Coronation Street episodes – and it makes Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) very jealous.

It’s very clear Stu and Yasmeen have feelings for each other, but they’re focused more on their friendship right now, as opposed to becoming an item.

The hesitation over a new relationship for Yasmeen is, of course, down to her past with Geoff Metcalfe.

Because Geoff was abusive and controlling, trusting another man is something Yasmeen is finding difficult.

When it comes to Stephen, his focus (so far) has been mum Audrey (Sue Nicholls) and the Platts.

Coming up, as Stephen settles into his new role in the family, he offers Sarah (Tina O’Brien) business advice and meddles in her partnership with Carla (Alison King), telling her someone with her experience shouldn’t be taking orders from Carla.

Later on, as Stu approaches Speed Daal, he’s put out to witness Stephen flirting with Yasmeen.

It prompts Stu to tell Yasmeen the truth about being drunk at work, but will he say anything else?

Recently, during a chat with Metro.co.uk, Bill Fellows told us how Stu feels as he watches Stephen turn on the charm with Yasmeen:

‘It’s like real life – once you see someone with someone else it makes you feel a bit stronger. He was a bit jealous, not massively. he’s grown to be really fond of her. Her and her family helped him when he needed it most, they gave him shelter when he needed it most and that’s a great gift to give anyone.

‘On Stu’s side he’s very taken with her. She’s had a tough time in the past and the writers are putting her through it again in a very different way. She struggles with trust. I want her to trust me but I’ve told her little white lies which destroys trust. I should be upfront much more.

‘I have a line saying “I wish I’d been honest from the beginning”. But then again if I’d said those things maybe I wouldn’t have got where I am now.’
