Clare Crawley’s time on The Bachelorette ended after just under two weeks of filming. She fell for contestant Dale Moss hard, and she fell for him fast. Today, they are still together, talking about having children and looking for a house to buy.
During Crawley’s brief time as the lead, she had a conversation with former bachelorette DeAnna Pappas (now Stagliano). The women chatted mostly about Moss–as fans are sure to not soon forget, there was even some pants-sniffing involved. In an interview Stagliano did on Nov. 13, she said that she and Crawley talked about so much more than Moss. But that’s the only footage that made the cut.
DeAnna Pappas Stagliano supported Clare Crawley throughout her season of ‘The Bachelorette’
Stagliano says she was actually the only person who knew the full story about Crawley and Moss as it was happening.
“We kept in touch a lot during her season when it was filming because I had the opportunity to go and be on an episode for Clare’s season,” she said on the Domenick Nati Show. “And the cool thing about it was I was the only one who knew the outcome. I was the only one who knew that she really loved Dale and that she really wanted to be with Dale and then, ultimately, in the end, that she left with Dale. I was really the only person who knew that.”
Stagliano is glad she could be there for Crawley, especially when the season started airing because Bachelor Nation was so brutal in their response.
“I think it made it pretty easy for her to have somebody to lean on during the process because people are hard on her,” she said. “You go on social media, people were really mean and very judgemental about Clare and how she was on the show and the way she came off and the way she fell for Dale. So I think it was nice for her to be able to have somebody to talk to and lean on through the process.”
DeAnna Pappas Stagliano and Clare Crawley talked about ‘all the guys,’ not just Dale Moss
Bachelorette fans will remember the talk Stagliano and Crawley had about Moss. According to the former lead, there was a lot we didn’t see.
“You saw two minutes, two-and-a-half minutes of that chat,” she said. “We sat there for two-and-a-half hours and we talked about, you know, all the guys, all the dates. The connections she was having with a couple of the guys. Talked about the issue with Yosef and the way that he treated her and talked to her the night before. We talked about so much.”
Stagliano went on to say that she thinks fans often forget that The Bachelorette is “a television show.”
“It is edited,” she said. “And what you saw was her being like, ‘Dale, Dale, Dale, Dale, Dale’ and sniffing his pants and calling it a day. There was so much more.”
At the end of the day, Stagliano is just “happy that [Crawley] got her fairytale ending.”
“She and Dale are like the real deal,” she said.
