The Chase host Bradley Walsh and its viewers were left with their jaws on the floor after the “oldest ever contestant” joined the show.
The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Wednesday as host Bradley welcomed four new quizzers onto the show looking to bag some serious cash
As fans tuned in for the primetime programme, the former Corrie star introduced contestants Andrea, Val, Nabeel and Meng before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.
This week the quartet were up against The Vixen who made sure to bring her A-game against the wise quizzers.
And when it was Val’s turn to bag some serious cash, Bradley was left floored by his age.
“How old are you? If you don’t mind me asking?” Bradley quizzed.
“I’m 94,” Val replied, causing Bradley’s mouth to drop.
“Brilliant,” he quipped, before adding: “I think you are the oldest contestant.”
Val agreed and said: “Yes I think am the oldest that has ever been on and I’m feeling like it at the moment.”
When asked what he does for work, he replied: “I was a vet, now I’m retired and I like to watch television, horses racing and losing.”
Val ended up beat The Vixen in his round, bagging £5,000 and a place in the final.
