The Chase in show first as stunned Paul Sinha praises 'best player' to ever take part | The Sun

THE Chase star Paul Sinha was involved in a show first as he sang the praises of the "best player" ever to take part in the quizzing contest.

The moment happened during Tuesday's edition of the hit ITV programme during one of the hardest sets of questions ever thrown upon a player.

Debbie from Surrey, Joe from Newcastle, Ian originally from Manchester and Kirsty from London were the hopefuls hoping to take a hefty sum back home.

After Debbie was axed from the show during the first round and Ian only managing to scrimp his way through thanks to the lower offer, it was all on Joe's shoulders to bring something back to the team.

The Newcastle native then managed to turn things around after building up a sizeable £6,000 offering.

Having performed excellently during the head-to-head, show host Bradley Walsh and Chaser Paul were both left completely stunned at just how good he was.

"Made them all look really easy. Well played, Joe."

Clearly chuffed, Joe replied: "Thank you very much!"

One of the hard-hitting questions Joe was forced to tackle was: "In snooker, what word refers to an irregular movement of the ball caused by dust?"

Proving he knew his stuff, the player correctly answered: "Kick."

Despite being hailed as one of the show's greatest, luck quickly ran out for Joe after his team under-performed in the final round.

Having an 15 point lead and £11,000 in the can, it was not enough to beat the mighty Paul who caught them with 39 seconds remaining.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
