The Chase's Anne Hegarty stuns celeb contestant with stunt she's 'never pulled before in show's history' | The Sun

THE Chase's Anne Hegarty left a celebrity player shocked on the latest episode of the ITV show.

Bradley Walsh,63, welcomed four new stars to the stage to win the cash £10,000 prize for their chosen charities.


Comedian Susan Calman, journalist Dermot Murnaghan, athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton, and actor Omid Djalili all appeared in the gameshow's celebrity episode.

It was Omid's time to face The Governess when the first three celebrities returned to the final hunt.

The 57-year-old raised £3,000 in the cash-builder and had the choice to either continue with it or reduce it by £1,000 or increase it by a whopping £128,000, or go lower with £1,000 or higher.

The comedian chose to take a chance and accept the hefty offer after consulting with his team.

Omid barely missed the opportunity to win the funds for his preferred charity during the suspenseful round when he was overtaken by the chaser on what might have been his last question.

Although he lost The Governess recognised Omid's outstanding effort and gave him a rare standing ovation as a result.

Omid was shocked when Anne when she got up and started clapping – a move she has never done on the show.

Anne said: “I thought you were absolutely awesome, I have never done this before."

With £12,000 and 20 correct answers, Susan, Dermot, and Perri joined the final chase.

The trio's attempts were unsuccessful, however, as Anne captured them in the final seconds.
