The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh jokingly scolded one of his players after they branded his joke "awful".

The ITV host is known for cracking hilarious jokes on the popular quiz show, but one contestant wasn't impressed with his wit.

In fact, she called him out on the joke halfway through a round, prompting Bradley to tell her off in front of the whole studio – warning her there would be "trouble" if she didn't stop having a go at him.

Bradley welcomed Lauren, Scott, Barbara and Ben into the studio for their chance to win a big wad of cash on Wednesday (September 7).

The hilarious clash occurred when contestant Ben was going head-to-head with Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty after his cashbuilder round, where he'd banked £6k.

Ben was asked: "What name is given to the den of an otter?", but he wrongly answered "Drey" when the right answer was "Holt".

Cracking a pun, Bradley quipped: "Know what a water otter is? Kettle," which was a reference to kettles making water "hotter".

But Ben's teammate Lauren blasted the joke when she told her host: "That is awful!"

Bradley jokingly snapped back: "What do you mean that's awful, Lauren? You wait until you get up here, now. There'll be trouble now. You come up here!"

The laughing host pointed a finger at her before he added: "Have a go at my gags!" as Lauren burst out laughing.

Lauren banked just £4k in her cashbuilder, but her team pointed out that she was dealt some tricky questions in the round.

However, when it came to her one-on-one with the chaser, she was beaten by The Governess and sent packing.

Her teammates Ben and Barbara made it to the final chase, but sadly they weren't able to get past Anne, so they were caught out and sent home like Lauren.
