The Chase’s Jenny Ryan discusses ‘intimidating’ persona
The Chase star Jenny Ryan joined Juled Hudson for a new episode of Celebrity Escape to the Country where she became emotional over moving “back home”. The ITV star was born and raised in Bolton but moved to London to pursue her career, especially now for filming The Chase.
Touching on her life in London, Jenny said: “It is great for transport links, very accessible to get to where I need to, to get to the studio to film The Chase.
There is not really a lot of greenery, it is just a bit loud,” leaving Jenny to want to move back home and swap her London rental for some green space.
Jenny was on the hunt with her partner Tom Tuck and was looking for a detached period property with four bedrooms, the potential to reconfigure, entertaining space and a good-sized garden, with a budget of £850,000.

She explained: “This is about me moving, to what I call closer to home. London is where I have a home but my home and my heart is always back up north.
Whilst the first property Jules showed them wasn’t a good fit, Jenny soon fell in love with the second property and became emotional thinking about moving back and being closer to her family.
After taking a look around and meeting Jules back outside in the garden, she exclaimed: “This feels like the beginning of a fairytale, it is astonishing.
“Hearing the bird song, my stepdad would be in his element here because he is a really keen birdwatcher, he has travelled the world watching birds.

“It is something we have done as a family for quite a few years, so much potential for sharing a new stage of life with this property because it has got something for all of us and we can share it out.”
Jules asked: “Is there a bit of emotion in your voice?” to which Jenny agreed and added: “This is what has got me, the woodlands. It feels like we are in time a little bit here.”
Despite being taken with the property, Jenny decided that she needed to speak to her parents about the property as they have “never led me astray”.
Celebrity Escape to the Country airs Wednesdays at 4pm from BBC One.
