For the past three seasons, the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has covered the best songs from the iconic Disney film series. But there’s been an outlier that fans have requested over and over again, and now a proper cover is finally happening!
The upcoming episode 4 of season 3 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will finally tackle “Fabulous” from High School Musical 2. The memorable number–originally performed by Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay Evans—is one of the most popular songs from the trilogy, and the show has finally found a way to pay homage to it, pool and all.
Cosmopolitan got the first exclusive look at the number, which you can check out above, performed by Frankie Rodriguez (Carlos), Dara Reneé (Kourtney), Sofia Wylie (Gina), and Julia Lester (Ashlyn). It’s just as pink and fun as you hoped it would be!
“Getting to perform ‘Fabulous’ and channeling my inner Sharpay was a childhood dream! And sharing the song with Dara, and putting our own spin on such an iconic number was so much fun,” Frankie said. “Also, who doesn’t want to spend all day in a pool?!”
