The Love Island final date is finally revealed – and it’s so soon

Love Island is set to end in a matter of days, with an end date for this series of the show now confirmed.

This means that the current Islanders, including Gemma Owen, Luca Bish, Tasha Ghouri, Andrew Le Page, Indiyah Polack, and Dami Hope, don't have long left together in the villa – and the prize is in their sights.

Previously, the show's host Laura Whitemore had hinted the ITV2 series would end after eight weeks, and a source close to the show has told The Sun that Love Island is on track for an eight-week run and is set to end on Monday, August 1.

A source said: “There was speculation that ITV might extend the series because ratings have been so impressive this year.

“But they also know there can be too much of a good thing.

“With Winter Love Island coming back in 2023, bosses want to keep anticipation high and not exhaust the format.”

This means that there are just 18 more days of this series to go, just under three weeks – so viewers are sure to see plenty of heartbreak and drama in the coming days.

Millions of viewers have tuned into Love Island this series, with overnight data showing a peak of 3.5 million Brits watched the Casa Amor recoupling drama last Thursday night – just 200,000 viewers short of long-running soap Emmerdale, who knabbed top spot with 3.7 million viewers.

But ITV say they believe as many as 4 million people have watched the episode so far either live or on catch-up.

There's still plenty of fan-favourite challenges and events set to go ahead on the show before it comes to an end, including Mean Tweets, Movie Night, and Snog, Marry, Pie.

Then the Islanders have got the classic Meet The Parents and Prom Night ahead of the big reveal of who will be crowned the winning couple.

On the build up to this news, things have been tense in the villa – with islanders clashing, couples splitting and reuniting, and bombshell arrivals.

Ekin-Su and Davide had yet another explosive fight after the controversial Adam Collard returned to the villa – with Davide accusing Ekin-Su of having her head turned.

In the bitter spat, Davide called Ekin-Su "faker than a Louis Vuitton bag from China" as he stormed off after the pair argued at the fire pit.

As well as this, Jacques O'Neill dramatically left the villa after clashing with ex Paige when her head was also turned by newcomer Adam.

Meanwhile on-again off-again couple Andrew and Tasha have reunited once more – officially recoupling after rekindling their flame following their Casa Amor fallout.

With only a few weeks left to go, there's still plenty of time for the chaos to continue before a couple are announced as the winners.

Love Island continues every night except for Saturdays at 9pm on ITV2.
