The One Show's Alex Jones has made a joke about her 'low' BBC pay.

On Wednesday's show (April 19), the Welsh presenter made the cheeky remark to her co-star Roman Kemp.

When discussing The One Show's upcoming Eurovision coverage, it appeared that Alex was going to have to put a lot of work in – resulting in Roman suggesting she should be "paid double."

Alex started the show off by saying: "Today the BBC has revealed its plans which includes the news that The One Show is coming live from Liverpool, we are very excited.

"We are going to be the official opening act right at the heart of the action and guiding you through the whole contest.

"We will be there from the Tuesday 9th of May for the semi-finals and then we will be getting the party started before the final on Saturday 13th of May.

"This is mega and a very special countdown to the Eurovision with The One Show."

She added: "The One Show on a Saturday?"

To which Roman replied: "I know they're going to have to double your pay."

Alex then joked: "Yeah to £4." Leaving Roman laughing at her response.

This comes after it was announced that The One Show and BBC Breakfast will temporarily move to Liverpool during the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

For the first time since 1998, the UK will host to the global contest, with Liverpool announced as the host city.
