THE Simpsons writer has challenged fans to spot a big change to Moe's Tavern after 33 years – can you find it?

The hit animated show dropped a new episode on Sunday night, which saw a character who appeared in series one return for the first time.


As if this wasn't exciting enough, producer Al Jean teased another major moment via Twitter.

He wrote: "New The Simpsons tonight guest starring A. Brooks and Fred Armisen.

"And… something is missing, that’s been on for 33 seasons. First person to guess correctly wins season 3 DVD."

The Simpsons fans immediately scoured the scenes in the show's iconic pub looking for clues.

They then replied in their droves with guesses, including the TV and the cash register.

But they were wrong, and Al soon revealed the correct answer.

Alongside a shot of how the bar previously looked, he wrote: "We hava winner… @MeaghenRoss … Congratulations!cigarette machine is gone for good…"

Meanwhile, the episode saw Marge reunite with Jacques, the man she almost had an affair with during a 1990 episode called Life On The Fast Lane.

Albert Brooks returned to voice the character again, and fans went wild online.

One wrote: "How awesome was that that #TheSimpsons brought back Jacques, all the way from Season One!"

Another added: "Tonight's episode of #TheSimpsons was great!
A well constructed episode with enough references and beautiful moments between Homer & Marge. P S. Thank you for the Homer VS Jacques scene, I waited for that for so long. Great job @AlJean ,
